Welcome to the Manse Pavilion !

Discover the Pavilion:

The Pavilion was built in the 17th century to house a hydraulic machine. It raised spring water from a well to an open-air reservoir, which further supplied the waterworks (pools, cascades, fountains), or “Grandes Eaux” designed to embellish the castle gardens created by Le Nôtre.

In the 19th century, a more up-to-date pumping station was added by the Duke of Aumale to supply the castle and the city of Chantilly with drinking water. He also built a laundry with the most modern equipment of the time.
